Project Benefit Monitoring and Evaluation (PBME) training was organized on the 20th, 22nd, and 24th of February 2012 by inviting monitoring staff in PPOs and DOCs of 4 provinces: (i) Phongsaly, (ii) Luang Namtha, (iii) Bokeo and (iv) Oudomxay. The purpose of the training is to enable the PPOs and DCOs staff to monitor and evaluate project implementation activities and to ensure preparation of project status report in timely and appropriate manner. Participants attended for the trainings are as follows:

The training was facilitated by Messrs. Shigeya OTSUKA and Youngyer KONGCHI (PBME consultant). The program commenced from introductory session by explaining general concept and methodology of PBME including reporting system and data collection format followed by practice using format. Although proposed system is new to most of the participants, PBME system seems to be clearly understood by monitoring staff of PPOs and DCOs through the active participation in the trainings.

NRI has understood, in the implementation of the Project, the importance of continuous learning process based on lessons to be obtained from regular monitoring and evaluation. This PBME training was surely a good kick-off to apply monitoring system of NRI.
